Scary Good Oreo Cookie Jell-O Shots

Is it an Oreo? Is it a Shot? Take your Oreo cookie Jell-O shots to the next level by creating a version that looks just like a real Oreo! These are frightfully delicious and taste like the cookie! In this recipe, you’ll use the actual Oreo cookies to hold the white gelatin shot, which replaces the cream filling. This clever twist will have your party guests amazed and delighted. Here’s how to make them!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (about 20 Oreos)

  • 1 cup of boiling water

  • 1 package of unflavored gelatin (such as Knox, 1 oz)

  • 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/4 cup of vodka (can use vanilla, whipped cream, or regular)

  • 1/4 cup of Baileys Irish Cream (optional)

  • Edible eyeballs (for making vampire faces, optional)

Tools You’ll Need:

  • Small spoon or butter knife (for removing Oreo cream)

  • Mixing bowls

  • Whisk

  • Measuring cups

  • Small circular cookie cutter for the cream filling

  • Spatula to scoop up the filling onto the cookie

  • Muffin tin or small shot cups (optional, for holding the Oreo cookies upright) or

  • serving dish - I used a coffin shaped one for my Halloween party (optional)

  • small piping bag (used the original cookie filling to make fangs on the top of the cookies, optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Oreo Cookie Shells

  1. Twist open the Oreos: Gently twist each Oreo cookie open so that you have two halves—one with the cream and one without. Set the halves with the cream aside; you won’t need the cream for this recipe.

  2. Scoop out the cream: Using a small spoon or butter knife, carefully scrape off the cream filling from the Oreo halves. You’ll be left with clean Oreo cookie halves that will hold your gelatin shots.

  3. Prepare a holding station: If you’re worried about the Oreo cookie halves falling over, place them inside a muffin tin or shot cups to keep them upright as you pour in the gelatin mixture.

Step 2: Make the White Gelatin "Cream" Filling

  1. Dissolve the gelatin: In a mixing bowl, pour 1 cup of boiling water over the unflavored gelatin powder. Whisk for about 2 minutes until the gelatin is fully dissolved.

  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk: Once the gelatin is dissolved, whisk in the 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk. This will give the mixture its creamy white look and sweet flavor.

  3. Add the alcohol: Stir in 1/4 cup of vodka and 1/4 cup of Baileys Irish Cream (optional) to give the shots a delicious, boozy kick. If you want a non-alcoholic version, simply replace the alcohol with cold water or milk.

  4. Carefully pour the mixture: Using pourable container, carefully pour the white gelatin mixture into a cookie sheet pan.

  5. Chill the filling: Place the sheet pan in the refrigerator and allow them to chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until the gelatin is fully set.

Step 3: Fill the Oreo Cookie Shells

  1. Cut the filling: Use the cookie cutter to make circles in the gelatin mixture.

  2. Assemble the cookie: Using the spatula, carefully place the center filling on one side of the cookie and place the other cookie on top.

  3. Add flare: I made these for a Halloween party, so I used a coffin shaped plate and added edible eyes and used the original cream filling as frosting and piped fangs onto the top of the cookies to resemble vampires!

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

Once the gelatin has fully set, your Oreo cookie Jell-O shots are ready to serve! These shots will look like regular Oreos on the outside, but with a fun, creamy, and boozy surprise in the center. Stack them on a plate, or serve them individually for a playful twist on the classic cookie.

Tips for Success:

  • Keep them cold: To maintain the integrity of the cookies and the gelatin, keep the Oreo Jell-O shots chilled until just before serving.

  • Non-alcoholic version: For a kid-friendly version, simply omit the vodka and Baileys, and replace with more water or milk for a creamy treat that everyone can enjoy.

  • Experiment with flavors: You can use flavored gelatin or even add extracts like vanilla or almond to the white gelatin mixture to give the shots a custom flavor.

These Oreo cookie Jell-O shots are not only fun and delicious, but they also look just like a real Oreo! They’re perfect for parties, game nights, or any gathering where you want to surprise your guests with a unique dessert. Enjoy!

Step 1: Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (about 30 cookies)

  • 1 cup of boiling water

  • 1 package of chocolate Jell-O (3 oz)

  • 1/2 cup of vodka (can be regular, vanilla, or whipped cream-flavored)

  • 1/2 cup of cold water

  • 1/4 cup of Baileys Irish Cream (optional for extra creaminess)

  • Whipped cream (for topping)

  • Mini Oreo cookies (for garnish)

Tools You’ll Need:

  • Muffin tin or small cups for the Jell-O shots

  • Non-stick spray

  • Mixing bowls

  • Whisk

  • Measuring cups

Step 1: Prepare the Oreo Cookie Crust

  1. Crush the Oreos: Start by crushing about 15 Oreo cookies. You can do this by placing them in a ziplock bag and crushing them with a rolling pin or pulsing them in a food processor until they are fine crumbs.

  2. Line the muffin tin: Lightly spray a muffin tin or small shot cups with non-stick spray to make it easier to remove the Jell-O shots later. Then, place about 1 tablespoon of the crushed Oreo crumbs into the bottom of each muffin tin cup, creating the base of your shot.

Step 2: Make the Chocolate Jell-O Layer

  1. Dissolve the Jell-O: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, pour 1 cup of boiling water over the chocolate Jell-O powder. Whisk for about 2 minutes until the powder is completely dissolved.

  2. Add the alcohol: Stir in 1/2 cup of cold water, 1/2 cup of vodka, and 1/4 cup of Baileys Irish Cream (optional). The Baileys will add a creamy layer of flavor that perfectly complements the Oreo crust.

  3. Pour the mixture: Carefully pour the Jell-O mixture over the Oreo crumbs in each muffin tin or shot cup. Fill each one about 3/4 full.

  4. Chill: Place the muffin tin or cups in the refrigerator and let them chill for at least 2-3 hours, or until the Jell-O is fully set.

Step 3: Add Toppings and Serve

  1. Top with whipped cream: Once the Jell-O shots are fully set, remove them from the refrigerator. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top of each shot for a sweet, creamy finish.

  2. Garnish: For a final touch, place a mini Oreo cookie on top of the whipped cream as a fun and decorative garnish.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

Once the whipped cream and Oreo garnish are in place, your Oreo cookie Jell-O shots are ready to serve! You can either pop them out of the muffin tin or serve them straight from the cups. These are best enjoyed cold, so keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.

Tips for Success:

  • Make them kid-friendly: If you want to make a non-alcoholic version for kids or guests who don’t drink, simply replace the vodka and Baileys with cold milk or water for a creamy chocolate treat.

  • Experiment with flavors: Try different flavored Jell-O or swap the vodka for flavored spirits to create your own unique version.

  • Easy removal: If you’re using a muffin tin, you can place it in a warm water bath for just a few seconds to make it easier to pop the Jell-O shots out.

These Oreo cookie Jell-O shots are sure to be a hit at any party! They’re the perfect blend of sweet, creamy, and boozy, making them an indulgent treat for adults. Give this recipe a try, and let the fun begin!
